Star Stuff (starstuff.earth) is the public flowering of the Stimpunks knowledge garden — a growing collection of zines and field guides that read settled science as an argument about belonging. If stimpunks.org is the garden, this is where it blooms.
The method is consistent. Each piece begins with something well-established in physics, cosmology, chemistry, or biology, and lets it carry a claim about neurodivergent and disabled life — not as loose metaphor, but as the same pattern showing up at more than one scale. Every atom heavier than hydrogen was forged inside a star; the calcium in our bones and the iron in our blood came from stars that died before the Earth existed. We take that settled science and read it as an argument: if we are all made of the same stellar matter, then neurodivergent and disabled people belong here fully — as part of the universe knowing itself in every possible way.
The through-line
Difference is not a deviation from a norm. It is the default state of matter — and we belong as it, not despite it.
That claim gets made across scales, and the scales are the point. The same shape keeps turning up whether you look through a telescope, a microscope, or a front door.
Relativity and crip time; phase transitions and fluctuating capacity; spectroscopy and the constellation that was never a severity scale; the near-uniform early universe that needed tiny differences to make any structure at all.
Niche construction and worldmaking; the umwelt and the double empathy problem; symbiosis and the self that was always a collective; tides and co-regulation.
Monotropism and spiral time; threshold anxiety and the crossing; functioning labels and the constellation of intensities; memory, mutual aid, and the work of being loved down to your star stuff.
How it's made, and held
Each piece pairs a real diagram and honest sourcing with the community's own knowledge, and many are built with — or directly credit — neurodivergent thinkers. Everything is written in the first person plural: we, not they. And everything is held in common under Creative Commons, made to be printed free and shared freely. The zines are flowers of the garden, and a flower's whole purpose is to give its seeds away.
These are resonances, not proofs. The physics does not owe us our ethics, and we don't pretend it does — we begin from well-established science and read it as an argument about belonging, noticing where the same shape recurs. Where a source is contested or an interpretation is one among several, we say so. We are noticing a rhyme, not collecting a proof.
We love you down to your star stuff.
